What it is
Litecoin is one of the oldest cryptocurrencies, created in 2011 by Charlie Lee from Bitcoin’s code. Blocks are produced faster than on Bitcoin, and the total supply is capped at 84 million coins — four times Bitcoin’s. It was meant to be “silver to Bitcoin’s gold”: cheap, quick payments. The price largely follows Bitcoin; it trades 24/7 and is quoted against USDT here.
