What it is
The first cryptocurrency — digital money with no central bank behind it — launched in 2009 by an author known only as Satoshi Nakamoto. No company runs it: thousands of independent computers keep the network going, and no more than 21 million coins will ever exist. The price is driven by demand, regulatory news and overall market mood, and it trades around the clock, seven days a week. On this platform it is quoted against USDT, a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar.
