What it is
A currency pair — the price of one currency in terms of another: how many British pounds one euro buys. A cross rate — a pair without the US dollar — that reflects the relationship between two neighbouring economies. It depends on the gap between European Central Bank and Bank of England rates, UK–EU trade relations, and British and European data. The currency market runs around the clock from Sunday evening to Friday evening; it is closed at weekends.
